Solitude is a means by which unhappiness is overcome and satisfaction, happiness, nirvana and parinirvana attained.

How is solitude a means by which unhappiness is overcome?

Through solitude one withdraws from the unhappiness of others which help maintain unhappiness.

Solitude gives one the opportunity to be alone with one's self.

Solitude gives one the opportunity to be alone with and to have a relationship, communion and interaction with one's chosen teacher through scripture and the written word.

Solitude gives one the time and the environment necessary for contemplation, meditation, discrimination and concentration.

Solitude gives one time to read.

Solitude gives one time to discover new things about the self.

Solitude gives one the opportunity to contemplate Life, God and the Universe.

Solitude gives one the opportunity to study, learn and investigate.

Solitude gives one the necessary environment for the growth of the self.

It is through solitude that one gains knowledge.

And it is through solitude that one gains knowledge of the self, unhappiness, satisfaction, happiness, nirvana and parinirvana.
