Overcoming unhappiness is a gradual process of spiritual growth and self-examination which takes time. One truly must make the effort her or himself. For it is only through self struggle that one may overcome unhappiness, and attain satisfaction, happiness, nirvana and parinirvana. No one can truly help another overcome unhappiness. It is a process of self realization which one must perform on one's own. Others may aid one's cessation of unhappiness only by overcoming unhappiness themselves. And others may help only by being an influence of satisfaction, happiness, nirvana and parinirvana. If another has overcome his or her unhappiness, they become only guides to others. If a person desires to climb a mountain, the guide can only show the way to the summit. If the climber wishes to reach the summit, the climber must walk the path to the summit on their own. Like wise, if a person desires to overcome unhappiness, they must make the effort themselves. No one is able to overcome unhappiness for another. One must be one's own savior in regard to overcoming unhappiness. One must take responsibility for one's own unhappiness. And one must take responsibility for one's own attainment of satisfaction, happiness, nirvana and parinirvana. The way to overcome unhappiness is through one's own self. One must seek for one's self the truth that will help to overcome unhappiness. The way is one of self-examination, concentration, self reflection, self knowledge, self discrimination, introspection and meditation. Overcoming unhappiness is a struggle which all must one day go through to attain satisfaction, happiness, nirvana and parinirvana. The overcoming of unhappiness is like the crossing of a torrent river. The way is difficult at first and one must struggle. When one reaches the other side, the way becomes easy. One must seek ways to help one's self. One must have fortitude and persistence in one's self effort to overcome unhappiness. One must keep going when the way becomes difficult. The overcoming of unhappiness and the attainment of satisfaction, happiness, nirvana and parinirvana is accomplished through faith in the belief that one has the power to bring about the cessation of unhappiness and the growth of satisfaction, happiness, nirvana and parinirvana. |
